Winter Blues

Hi there!

If you take in consideration where I come from (South-Africa) and where I live now (UAE), you must know that I find it extremely difficult to relate to a cold, blue, snowy Christmas!

In South Africa Christmas is a Summer celebration, and here in the UAE, it is Winter, but... the temperatures during Winter time is similar than that what most of you experience in Summer time!

Saying that, I didn't think I am going to play along with any blue Christmas/winter challenges... BUT... then came inspiration, and need or no need for a card should not stop inspiration... or what do you say?

I measured and hand cut the triangles (Christmas trees) with my craft knife, because my triangle die is too small

Back panel created with gross grain ribbon.

Added die cut stars... and hope that my embossing will create a snow effect!

  6. PS - Coming from Canada, I find it equally funny to think of people celebrating Christmas on the beach, and it being too hot to cook a turkey! lol!

  8. We have christmas in summer here but we still seem to have far more wintry christmas cards than summer. I think it is partly due to the earlier settlers were English and more recently the effect of TV! You do see the odd card with Santa having a BBQ or similar but not often. I think you card is very pretty and would stand out among a lot of more summery christmas cards.
